Falcon Ridge 4th graders donate $1,225 to Peace Center
Falcon Ridge 4th
graders presented a check for $1,225 to Noreen Seurer, Peace Center Manager, on
Tuesday, March 25. The students raised the money over the last month through a
soup dinner on Thursday, February 13th and from the sale of handmade
clay bowls the students created in their art class at Falcon Ridge.
Noreen Seurer was extremely
grateful for the donating and stated, “I want to thank you so much for the
wonderful, generous check you gave to Peace Center Food Shelf. You worked very
hard on the beautiful ceramic bowls you created – you can be very proud of your
efforts.”
With the donation, Peace Center will be able to buy a wide
variety of food including meat, milk, cereal, soups, pasta, canned fruit and
vegetables, peanut butter, tuna, and much, much more through Second Harvest
Heartland, our area food bank. Through this donation many children and families

Message from NPAS Transportation Department
In an effort to better serve students' transportation
needs, we will no longer be mailing the Transportation Registration form for
the 2014-2015 school year. All
registrations for transportation will be done online and submitted
electronically. If you do not have
access to the internet, you may complete a hard copy of the registration form at
the bus garage. These will be the only
registrations that will be accepted. We
will no longer accept emails or phone calls to register a student for transportation. Please submit all
transportation registrations by July 15, 2014.

March News from Early Childhood
Register for Preschool Now!
Do you have your child registered at a preschool for this
fall? Some classes are full and other
classes are filling quickly. Make sure
your child is prepared for kindergarten by enrolling in a New Prague Area
School District Preschool. Traditional two
or three day a week classes are held at the Central Education Campus and the Early
Childhood Center in New Prague, and at Eagle View Elementary in New Market. PM
Preschool is a unique evening preschool.
Children attend one night a week.

There is a FREE Baby Fair event just for you! Saturday, April 5, 9-11 a.m. at the Early
Childhood Center in New Prague. Stacy
Stats (Physical Therapist) will be talking about “The Importance of Tummy Time
for Babies” and Diane Hrabe (Certified Car Seat Safety Technician) will share
information on how to correctly install your car seat. Educational information booths, vendors, and
resources will be available to assist you in your most important job . . . being a

excellent information to help you raise your baby.
Family Fun Night Coming Up!
Mark your calendar for the spring Family Fun Night on Thursday, March 27 from 5-7 p.m. at Falcon Ridge Elementary! Activities can be found throughout the school including Scooter Alley, Free Popcorn, Bingo, Dance Music, Cup Stacking Challenge, Book Swap, Science Alley (see Rube Goldberg and Science Fair Projects from our 5th Graders), and more. We are also excited to have the Lonsdale Ambassadors with us who will be making pipe cleaner crowns for all children. Admission is free! Pizza, water, and snacks will be available for purchase. Fun for the entire family!

NPAS Science Fair
This past Saturday, sixty projects were displayed from the New Prague Elementary Schools at the middle school in New Prague. It was a fun event filled with projects related to bacon, watermelons, hamsters, plants, music, art, volcanoes, blood sugar, cold pop, boiling liquids, dancing, gymnastics, eggs, toothpaste, muffins, cupcakes, and much more! Purple Ribbon winners are able to advance to the Southern Regional Science Fair in Mankato on Saturday April 26. Congrulations to Falcon Ridge's Luke Oellrich, Manjiri Palayekar, Nora Rosemeier, Katelyn Heimer, Mara Simon, Dylan Petsche, Billy Dopp, Libby Olson, Lexi Trachte, Kyiah Floyd, Stephen Whipple, Matthew Ryburn and Alexis Rueger who will all be advancing to the next round in late April!

Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration was held this past Thursday evening, and a very good showing of parents attended. Information on programming options, transportation, and summer-readiness questions were topics that were discussed. Parents of incoming Kindergartners are reminded to register their child by March 14. An Open House is scheduled for Monday, May 5 from 5:30-7, where all Kindergartners and their parents are welcome to visit our building, step into a classroom, and meet the Kindergarten staff.
